Independence Policy

Our commitment to editorial independence is absolute and non-negotiable. This policy sets out how PerfectCars content is produced, where our data comes from, and how to report a mistake.

⚖️
Independent Verdicts

Advertising never shapes our reviews, ratings, or editorial coverage.

🔒
No Manufacturer Deals

We have no commercial relationships with any car brand.

🔎
Source-Checked Data

Specs come from official manufacturer sources, checked against other published data.

1. Independence from Manufacturers

PerfectCars is not paid by manufacturers, importers or dealers for coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content. No brand can review, approve or change what we publish.

If advertising appears on the site, it is served separately and has no say over our coverage or our scores.

2. How Content Is Produced

PerfectCars is a small independent site, not a newsroom. We do not road-test cars, and we do not claim to. Our pages describe cars from their published data.

Research and first drafts are produced with the help of AI tools. Nothing is published automatically: every spec sheet and article is reviewed before it goes live. News articles are credited to PerfectCars Editorial rather than to named individuals.

3. Specification Accuracy

Specifications, trims, equipment and prices are researched from each manufacturer's official sources wherever they are available, and checked against other published sources. Figures that cannot be confirmed are flagged during research, and estimated figures are marked with ~.

Where the US and UK versions of a car differ, each has its own page with that market's specifications and pricing.

Specifications are updated when a manufacturer revises its published data or a model changes.

4. Expert Scores

Each car is scored from 0 to 10 in six categories: Performance, Design, Technology, Comfort, Value and Engine, plus an overall score.

The scores are our editorial assessment of the car's published specifications, equipment and price against rivals in its segment. They are not road-test results. Scores are not changed at a manufacturer's request.

5. Corrections Policy

If you spot a factual error, tell us through our contact form. Confirmed errors are corrected on the page.

6. Privacy and Data

PerfectCars does not sell reader data to third parties. The only data we collect ourselves is that necessary to operate the website (server logs, form submissions). Where third-party advertising is shown, any data those partners collect is governed by our Privacy Policy and their own policies.

Reader email addresses submitted for the newsletter are used solely for that purpose and are not shared with any third party, including manufacturers or automotive brands.

7. Complaints

Editorial complaints can be sent through the contact form, marked "Editorial Complaint".
