We collect almost nothing. We sell nothing. Here is exactly what little data we do hold — and what we do with it.

Plain-English Summary
🍪
Minimal First-Party Data

The only cookie we set stores your light/dark theme preference and contains no identifying information. Any advertising partners use their own cookies under their own policies.

📊
No Profiling by Us

We don't run our own analytics that profile individual visitors. What you read is never tied to your identity by us.

📧
Your Email Stays Here

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is never shared with anyone — including manufacturers.

1. Who We Are

PerfectCars ("we", "our", "us") is an independent automotive information service operated at perfectcars.io. We are not affiliated with any automobile manufacturer, dealership, or automotive media group. Our registered address is available on request via our contact form.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the website. This includes: server log data automatically generated when you visit any page (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit — retained for 30 days for security purposes); email addresses you voluntarily provide when subscribing to our newsletter; and the contents of messages submitted via our contact form. We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or payment information unless you explicitly provide them in a contact form message.

3. What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with automobile manufacturers or dealers. We do not use social media tracking plugins. We do not run our own analytics services that collect personally identifiable information. If the site displays third-party advertising, those ad partners may use their own cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies. The only first-party cookie we set is a session cookie for theme preference (dark/light mode), which contains no personally identifiable information and expires when you close your browser.

4. Newsletter Subscribers

If you subscribe to our weekly newsletter, we store your email address solely for the purpose of sending you that newsletter. We do not share subscriber lists with any third party. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter, or by contacting us via our contact form. Your email will be removed within 48 hours of your request.

5. Contact Form Submissions

When you use our contact form, the contents of your submission (name, email address, topic, and message) are sent to our editorial team via encrypted email. We retain contact form submissions for a maximum of 12 months, after which they are permanently deleted. We do not use contact form data for any purpose other than responding to your enquiry.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR where applicable), you have the right to: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate personal data; request deletion of your personal data; withdraw consent to processing at any time; lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via our contact form.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect any personal data we hold. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to personal data is restricted to editorial staff who require it to fulfil their function. Despite these measures, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our site may contain links to manufacturer websites, regulatory bodies, and other automotive resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with the date of update noted at the top. For material changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.

10. Contact

For any privacy-related enquiry, to exercise your rights, or to raise a complaint, please contact us via the contact form on our website, selecting "General Enquiry" as the topic. We will respond within five business days.
